As a Cloud Network Operations Administrator, you’ll be stationed onsite with a federal client in Washington, DC, ensuring resilient network operations that enable mission-critical systems to serve the public effectively and securely.
What is the Mission?
The Cloud Network Operations Administrator plays a key role in managing, securing, and optimizing hybrid network environments for a federal public-facing system. This position supports cloud and on-premises infrastructure across Azure and AWS to ensure scalable, secure, and resilient operations aligned with federal standards and stakeholder requirements. The mission is to maintain seamless network operations, high availability, and compliance with government cybersecurity policies, helping ensure that critical digital infrastructure remains safe, responsive, and accessible to the American public.
What Will You Do?
- Monitor and tune the performance of hybrid cloud and on-prem environments to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
- Configure, manage, and secure network devices, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN components.
- Identify and remediate network incidents, maintaining uptime for critical operations.
- Support new deployments and infrastructure changes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and change records.
- Conduct hands-on activities such as cabling, racking, or configuring physical equipment as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of network performance, resilience, and security posture.
What Skills Do You Possess?
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or operations supporting hybrid environments.
- Demonstrated expertise with Azure and AWS networking services and integration between cloud and on-prem systems.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
- Experience with monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Zscaler, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network and connectivity issues.
- Hands-on capability to perform limited physical support activities (e.g., cabling, equipment setup).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to work onsite in Washington, DC.
- Must be eligible to undergo a federal background check, including financial review, as part of client security requirements
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking or equivalent
- CompTIA Network+, Server+, or Cloud+
- ITIL Foundation
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Security Requirements
U.S. citizenship required; additional clearance may be required based on client systems supported.
